Mars Chocolate North America and its hometown Hackettstown, N.J., are holding a vote to rename a section of High Street in town in honor of the candy company that has called that street home for 54 years.

In an online note, apparently from the chocolate company, residents (and presumably others) are asked to choose among: Mars Chocolate Way, Avenue of the M&M's, M&M'S Chocolate Avenue and Mars Chocolate Boulevard.

“Mars has been a part of Hackettstown for 54 years, and while they’ve always contributed product for a lot of events and monetary donations for a lot of events, there was not a true branding of Mars and town together,” said Mayor Maria DiGiovanni “After 54 years, we thought it was time we really do something together.” She said the idea has been in the works for about six months.

The winning street name will be revealed in October. The winner, however, will be an honorary street name and will not affect any mailing addresses. Voting was scheduled to close in early August.
