Dannon Co. shows consumers how Greek yogurt can be an indulgent dairy snack. Oikos Chocolate On Top and Oikos Caramel On Top are new formats of the popular high-protein yogurt. Each 5.3-oz. cup is Greek yogurt topped with a dollop of chocolate or caramel. The chocolate varieties are Raspberry Truffle and Chocolate-Covered Strawberry, and the caramel ones are Bananas Foster and Caramel Macchiato. Even with the extra layer of indulgence, the dairy snacks still pack the protein, with each single-serve container providing 10g. The indulgence does come with calories and creamy milkfat, 210 and 4.5g, respectively.

The company has been busy identifying new forms and uses for Greek yogurt. In July, Dannon Foodservice launched a bulk yogurt back-of-house solution to assist operators with using Greek yogurt in recipes. Dannon Oikos Pro Greek Nonfat Yogurt comes in 6-lb. bags with an easy-pour resealable cap to help prevent spillage and minimize cross-contamination. It can be used as a better-for-you replacement for cream cheese, mayonnaise and sour cream in dressings, soups and sauces.
