Primizie’s Snacks are Inspired by Italy, but Perfected in the States

The Primizie crispbread was discovered by Chef Mark Spedale, cofounder and CEO of the namesake company, during a culinary tour in Italy. On a quest to find the ideal type of bread to serve in his restaurant, Spedale scoured Italy’s countryside and came across piadina dough in Emilia-Romagna. He made it his own by seasoning, grilling and crisping the dough to perfection. He started serving the crisps as a base for hors d’oeuvres at his restaurant and they quickly became an instant hit. It wasn’t long before requests to bag the crispbreads flooded in from customers and retailers alike.

Now available in 6.5-oz. retail packs, the crispbreads come in four flavors. Classic is an Italian seven-herb blend that includes red chilis and a secret blend of herbs, spices and seasonings. Cheese is a blend of smoked Dutch Gouda cheese paired with roasted garlic. Chile is mix of New Mexican mild Chimayo chili and lime to provide a sweet, rich and spicy flavor without the heat. Lastly, there’s Simply Salted, which is made with French Velvet Grey Sea Salt. The suggested retail price is $3.99.
