Carson City, Nev.-based Marson Foods invested $35 million to build the facility in Hazelwood, Mo.

A Carson City, Nev.-based processor of waffle products for schools and foodservice has opened a new processing plant in Hazelwood, Mo., according to local news reports, nearly one year after announcing the project. Marson Foods LLC invested $35 million in the facility, which will include a distribution facility and production lines, and will create 45 new jobs in the area.

Marson Foods products are distributed to K-12 schools and other foodservice channels through distributors and brokers, and they are formulated to meet school nutrition requirements throughout the year.

Founders Jan and Dave Marson previously owned Nature’s Bakery, which they sold to Kind — which is part of the Mars family of companies. The new Marson Foods facility will span more than 147,000 square feet.
