Acquisition Leads to Formation of Desi Fresh Foods

ICV Partners LLC announced the acquisition of south Asian yogurt ingredient and drinkable yogurt brands, and the formation of a new company, Desi Fresh Foods.

Investment firm ICV Partners LLC announced the acquisition of Desi Natural and Noga brands and related assets from Raymundo’s Food Group LLC. As a result, ICV additionally has formed a new company, Desi Fresh Foods, from these assets.

Desi Fresh Foods produces dahi — a south Asian yogurt used primarily as an ingredient in meals, side dishes and beverages — and lassi, a drinkable south Asian yogurt, for the U.S. market. Lassi is defined as a creamy, frothy yogurt-based drink, blended with water and various fruits or seasonings.

Desi Fresh Foods is located in Farmingdale, N.Y., where it operates its primary plant. Larry LaPorta, who has run the business since 2018 as its general manager, has been named CEO.

Founded in 1999, ICV Partners is a Miami and Atlanta-based private investment firm.
