Investment firm MPearlRock has announced the acquisition of Bellevue, Wash.-based, non-dairy coffee creamer brand Nutpods, according to a release sent to Food Processing. MPearlRock is a partnership between PearlRock Partners and MidOcean Partners that was launched just one week ago. Terms of the Nutpods deal were not disclosed.
Nutpods was founded in 2013, and today the company is one of the largest brands in the plant-based, non-dairy creamer category, according to the announcement. Nutpods can be found in more than 15,000 retail stores nationwide. It is the No. 1 plant-based non-dairy creamer brand and No. 2 among all non-dairy creamer brands, the release noted.
Nutpods received a strategic investment from VMG Partners in 2019, and since then, Nutpods more than tripled its net sales.
