Norwood Marking Systems/Allen Coding Systems introduces the new 53LTc continuous motion thermal transfer printer. Like the intermittent motion 53LTi introduced in 2007, the new continuous motion 53LTc is a state-of-the-art thermal transfer printer that costs 40 percent less than traditional thermal transfer printers yet provides many of the advanced features of the more expensive systems. The affordable 53LT offers OEMs and end-users a cost effective way to upgrade from hot stamp printing to more versatile thermal transfer printing.Together with the new 53LTc, Norwood/Allen introduces its new PR5 handheld controller. This new controller is half the size of its other handheld controllers and features a USB port for faster and easier uploading of images. To further ease operation, the new user interface offers a selection of 12 languages. The new controller comes standard on the 53LT and is an option on other Norwood / Allen printers.Featuring 300-dpi resolution, printer resident barcodes, cassette ribbon loading, large 600-meter ribbon capacity and a best-in-class thermal print head, the 53LT offers high-end performance at an affordable price. The printer can even be equipped with an optional external Ethernet device to enable remote changeovers and the centralized control of multiple printers via plant-wide networks. With its Windows-based full-featured label design software, the 53LT can print fixed and variable data, including clock and calendar data and serialization. Text, graphics and a wide array of barcodes including RRS linear and composite versions, can be printed both horizontally and vertically. The printer can mark labels and a variety of substrates for packaged products with expiration dates, product identification information, lot-batch numbers, company logos and more.
