Kellogg's All-Bran Fiber Drink Mix Ends the Choice Between Taste and Fiber
Aug. 27, 2008
You no longer have to choose between taste and fiber
Irregularity can affect everything you do, however, according to data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, only one in 10 Americans gets the recommended 25-30 grams of fiber each day. Some reasons for not eating enough high-fiber foods range from the sometimes gritty, unpleasant taste to the lack of convenient ways to enjoy them.
Battle Creek, Mich.-based Kellogg Co. debuts two options to easily increase fiber intake — All-Bran Fiber Drink Mix and All-Bran Fiber Bars. Each features a robust 10 grams of fiber per serving, or 40 percent of your DV for fiber.
Both varieties are found in the diet and nutrition aisle near the pharmacy in grocery stores nationwide. All-Bran Fiber Drink Mix is available in Pink Lemonade and Iced Tea flavors. When one 20-calorie packet is added to a 16.9-ounce or 20-ounce bottle or glass of water, it becomes a delicious, high-fiber beverage that’s a refreshing alternative to the higher-calorie, gritty fiber drinks on the market today.
All-Bran Fiber Bars, made from wheat bran and whole-grain rolled oats, are available in Apple Cinnamon Streusel and Strawberry Drizzle flavors. Each bar provides three times more dietary fiber than the leading fiber supplement. And at 120-130 calories, they are a wise on-the-go snack or midday pick-me-up.
“While new All-Bran Fiber Bars and Drink Mixes certainly taste great, we’re excited because they offer a substantial amount of fiber per serving — fiber that many consumers aren’t getting enough of,” says Jennifer Garrett, Kellogg’s director of nutrition marketing.
Suggested retail price is $3.99 for the drinks and $4.99 for the bars.
