Skippy Snack Bars Peanut Butter and Fudge (also available in Peanut Butter, Peanut Butter and Strawberry and Peanut Butter and Marshmallow varieties), Unilever Bestfoods, Englewood Cliffs, N.J.Shira Marks, 7th grade:As you rip open the package, you can’t help but expect an overwhelming gross smell of peanut butter. While not necessarily a boring package, it seems to say, “Wow, this is a real good Reese’s spin-off.” With the Skippy logo big and bright, you know the peanut butter will be good, but the fudge is dry and the granola has bad texture and no taste. The ads on TV with dancing Jamaican elephants focus obviously toward kids third grade or younger. Come on guys, it’s not healthy and not good, so leave the kids with their normal granola bars.
Gabe Siegel, 7th grade:The packaging is bright and colorful â shiny and fun to look at. The bar is an eerie white and not very appealing at first look. The bar is chewy and soft at the same time as you bite into it. The fudge and peanut buttery taste is not bad, but it leaves a dry feeling at the back of your mouth. These bars are a good snack and they are sorta healthy.
Taylor Madison, 7th grade:Mmmm! Yum! That’s what you should hear with these bars. Make it a little more gooey. It makes Reese’s look good. It’s been made to attract a lot of people. It is also healthy for you. The bright colors make it attracting. Eat these as a snack!
Tommy Parkinson, 7th grade:The packaging is very bright and colorful. Upon first glance, you think it looks delicious. The actual thing, though, is very disappointing. The bars are very chewy, especially the granola part. They taste bland and dry. The peanut butter doesn’t taste like peanut butter and the aftertaste leaves your mouth feeling dry. Skippy Snack Bars don’t taste nearly as good as regular granola and fruit bars. They probably aren’t as healthy, either. They might appeal to some kids, but I found them just plain nasty.
Andrew Billups, 7th grade:They taste pretty good. But the taste is more appealing to second graders. The colors and packaging are average. They are pretty chewy and good and the aftertaste is peanut butter.
Emmanuel Bouzi, 7th grade:The taste is good and mushy in my mouth and it’s kind of crunchy. You also like to taste the Skippy peanut butter because it is always in the bar.
Will Farrow IV, 7th grade:The peanut butter snack is very tasty. The fudge and peanut butter mix in your mouth to make a creamy sensation that’s great for on the go. The packaging is very nice, and the bright color is very exciting and will attract customers. Kids will probably like them. It’s a good snack.
