PepsiCo makes a new commitment

PepsiCo Inc. plans to reduce the salt, sugar and saturated fat content of many of the products in its beverage and snack product portfolios. It will reduce the average amount of sodium per serving in key products by 25 percent by 2015; reduce the average amount of saturated fat per serving by 15 percent by 2020; and reduce the average added sugar per serving by 25 percent by 2020.

PepsiCo Inc. plans to reduce the salt, sugar and saturated fat content of many of the products in its beverage and snack product portfolios. It will reduce the average amount of sodium per serving in key products by 25 percent by 2015; reduce the average amount of saturated fat per serving by 15 percent by 2020; and reduce the average added sugar per serving by 25 percent by 2020. PepsiCo also will increase the whole grains, fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds and low-fat dairy in its product portfolio.

Called Performance with Purpose, the goals are designed to advance PepsiCo's commitment to deliver sustainable growth and they apply to the company's food and beverage businesses around the world, including Frito-Lay, Quaker, Pepsi-Cola, Tropicana and Gatorade.
