The Beginning of The Erin/Food Processing Project

Oct. 14, 2009

Erins EdiblesForgive me blog readers, for I have sinned. It has been almost one month since my last blog post.

What can I say, I've been a busy girl. The editors of Food Processing are wrapping up our Processor of the Year issue, our Editors' Choice issue as well as a gamut of other projects.

Oh, and I've been cooking -- a lot.

Forgive me blog readers, for I have sinned. It has been almost one month since my last blog post.

What can I say, I've been a busy girl. The editors of Food Processing are wrapping up our Processor of the Year issue, our Editors' Choice issue as well as a gamut of other projects.

Oh, and I've been cooking -- a lot.

I moved on from Julia Child's My Life in France (that I mentioned in my last post) on to the now major motion picture The Julie & Julia Project. I felt sort of inspired by the time I finished both books and have decided to embark on my own cooking adventure: the Erin/Food Processing project.

As a Food Processing/FoodProcessing.com staffer, a handful of new foods, ingredients, spices, etc. cross my desk each week. I'm a home grown foodie with a taste for comfort foods and I typically take each thing home, try it for my family and decide to purchase said ingredients the next time I run out.

Occassionally, I'll like something so much, I'll write about it for an Editors' Choice piece we're doing. But now I've decided to turn a job perk into a project.

Sort of like Julie Powell (the blogger who made every one of Julia Childs' recipes in the Mastering the Art of French Cooking)  I'm going to attempt to make at least one, if not all, of the recipes of the foods I'm sent and will blog about it.

From my reaction to my kids' and husband's reactions as well as a few tips or tricks along the way, I'll provide the laughs if you provide the time to read.

I already have a dish ready to prepare: Mediterranean Chicken and Potatoes (a la McCormick's Mediterranean-inspired spices).

Stay tuned!
