Conagra Foods has received a proposed fine of $2,121 for conditions at its plant in Marshall, Mo. The OSHA release said only that the company had violated requirements to keep records of illnesses among employees. The Marshall plant, which makes frozen meals, was shut down for about 10 days in April after 20 of the approximately 700 employees were diagnosed with COVID-19.
The JBS USA facility in Green Bay, Wis., was hit with a proposed fine of $13,494 for violation of OSHA’s “general duty clause,” which requires employers to furnish a workplace free of recognized hazards. That plant also closed for about a week in April following an outbreak that affected hundreds of workers.
