Heinz To Hot Dog & Bun Companies: Stop the Inequality

July 8, 2021
Heinz Ketchup is hoping to help North Americans answer the age-old question: Why can't hot dog manufacturers and hot dog bun manufacturers agree on the same amount of product per package?

It's one of the bigger mysteries yet to be solved for both consumers and the industry alike: Why can't the hot dog makers and the hot dog bun bakers agree on the number of dogs and buns that go into a package?

Serving as the condiment go-between, Heinz has designated itself the peacemaker and is demanding a solution for unequal packs. In honor of National Hot Dog Month, Heinz has launched a petition at HeinzHotDogPact.com that calls for hot dog fans to sign in support of the movement and have their voices heard.

"We've seen our fans through social media express their outrage about the bun-to-hot-dog ratio issue for years, and we know there must be a better way," says Daniel Gotlib, Associate Director, Brand Building & Innovation, Kraft Heinz Company. "We saw an opportunity to champion this issue on behalf of hot dog lovers across North America and help show manufacturers why they need to put an end to unequal packs."
