Fortune magazine published its list of the 50 Most Powerful Women in Business, and several familiar food and beverage industry faces are on it. Indra Nooyi, chairman and CEO of PepsiCo, is No. 2, behind Ginni Rometty, the second-year CEO of IBM. Irene Rosenfeld of Mondelez is No. 6.
When she was chairman and CEO of the much bigger Kraft Foods, Rosenfeld and Nooyi traded the 1-2 positions in previous lists.
ADM's Patricia Woertz was next at No. 7. Campbell Soup's Denise Morrison is No. 23, and Ilene Gordon of ingredient-maker Ingredion is 39.
The Fortune editors consider four criteria: the size and importance of the woman's business in the global economy, the health and direction of the business, the arc of the woman's career (resume and runway ahead), and social and cultural influence.
