The founder of Amy’s Kitchen is stepping back into the CEO role, replacing someone who had held that position for less than a year.
Andy Berliner founded the organic frozen-food company along with his wife in the late 1980s, naming it after their then-unborn daughter. The company announced on its LinkedIn page that Berliner will resume the role of CEO, although it did not give an effective date.
Berliner will be replacing Xavier Unkovic, who was named president of the company in 2017 and CEO last fall. The company announcement said Unkovic “will be leaving Amy’s to pursue another opportunity.”
“The entire Amy’s team would like to thank Xavier for his contributions over the last four years,” the announcement said. “His impact on the business has been significant and will last a long, long time.”
