Chobani has tabbed a former company president to return as its leader, following the abrupt departure of its previous chief.

Kevin Burns will be president and chief operating officer of the dairy company that introduced Greek yogurt to America, reporting directly to founder and CEO Hamdi Ulukaya, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal. He replaces Peter McGuinness, who left Chobani earlier this month to become CEO of Impossible Foods.

Burns had been president of Chobani from 2014 to 2016. He is credited with helping the company grow from a startup to an established food processor. His most recent position was as CEO of a telehealth pharmacy. He had been CEO of Juul Labs, the leader in vaping equipment and supplies, but resigned that position in 2019 after criticism began to surface of Juul’s marketing to young people.
