Saputo Acquires Two North Carolina Dairy Businesses

Carolina Aseptic and Carolina Dairy bought from AmeriQual Group Holdings.

Saputo Inc. on Sept. 1 completed the acquisition of the Carolina Aseptic and Carolina Dairy businesses formerly operated by AmeriQual Group Holdings LLC, including two buildings in North Carolina.

The Canadian dairy company paid US$118 million in cash. They will join Saputo’s USA Dairy Division. The North Carolina businesses employed approximately 230 people.

Carolina Aseptic develops, manufactures, packages and distributes aseptic shelf-stable food products and beverages out of a purpose-built facility in Troy, N.C. Nearby, Carolina Dairy manufactures, packages and distributes refrigerated yogurt in spouted pouches in Biscoe, N.C.
