Cupful Kefir from Rye Fresh Inc. is a low-fat kefir-style yogurt line that comes in 5.3-oz. single-serve containers. The 99 percent-lactose free product is made from milk from grass-fed cows (when in season), who are said to provide milk that not only tastes better, but contains a more balanced level of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, along with conjugated linoleic acid and vitamins A, K and E. According to the New Jersey-based company, the local cows that provide milk for Cupful Kefir graze on fresh grass and greens in spring, summer and fall. They feed on hay from the same pastures in the winter months; therefore, there may be seasonal variations in product color and flavor.
The six flavors are: blueberry, Madagascar vanilla, mango, peach, plain and strawberry. Each single-serve container of the fruited varieties contains 100 calories, 3g of fat, 7g of protein and 14g of sugar. Plain is only 90 calories with 10g of sugar. All varieties are gluten-free and loaded with 12 live and active cultures, including probiotics.
