Innovative popped snack company Popchips inc., introduced its namesake chips in 2007. They are now sold at more than 30,000 retailers across North America and the U.K. This summer, the company will introduce two new chips in flavors that are complete opposites in terms of taste profiles.
Crazy Hot Potato is the brand’s spiciest product to-date. As hot as a habanero pepper, this potato-based chip is balanced with just enough cheesy notes to make consumers’ lips tingle but not burn. Cinnamon Twist Sweet Potato is a vegan-friendly combination of sugar, cinnamon and a hint of tangy apple on a sweet potato chip.
Like all Popchips products, the two new options are created using heat and pressure but no oil in the popping process. The chips contain no artificial ingredients and no trans-fatty acids. They are gluten-free, kosher and have less than half the fat of fried chips. Both varieties come in 3.5-oz. bags and have a suggested retail price of $2.99. Crazy Hot Potato will also be available in a 1-oz. single-serve bag with a suggested retail price of $1.49.
