Suddenly Salads Go With the Grain

General Mills Inc. expanded its dry mix salad kits with Suddenly Grain Salad.

Today’s consumers want to eat whole grains but the preparation can be intimidating and the taste is often lackluster. To assist, General Mills Inc. expands its dry mix salad kits with Suddenly Grain Salad, a completely new take on grains. The mixes are a wholesome blend of grains paired with flavorful herbs and spices in a boil-in-bag format for convenient prep. Dried fruit, vegetables or nut mix-ins along with a zesty dressing packet are included to create a blend of bold flavors and textures. Served cold or warm, the salads contain at least 27g of whole grains per serving are also a good source of fiber.

There are three varieties. The Harvest Grains mix includes brown, red and wild rice, quinoa, cranberries and almonds with blush wine vinaigrette. Tuscan Grains includes brown rice, wheat berries, quinoa, almonds and red peppers with tomato Parmesan herb dressing. Southwest Grains blends brown rice, quinoa, black beans, corn and red peppers with chipotle vinaigrette. The suggested retail price is $2.69 per 5.5 to 6.7-oz. package that makes four servings.
