San-J International Introduces Lower-Sodium Gluten-Free Soy Sauce
New Tamari Lite 50% Less Sodium Gluten Free Soy Sauce is a product for gluten-free consumers concerned about sodium content. This variety is naturally brewed for up to six months with non-genetically modified soybeans and no wheat. Many soy sauces include wheat ingredients, rendering them non-consumable by those with celiac disease.
Even with lower sodium, Tamari Lite’s umami taste adds flavor to all kinds of cuisine. This new better-for-you version functions as a marinade for poultry, meat, seafood, vegetables and tofu, and can be used in stir-fry, rice or noodle dishes, as a flavor enhancer in soups and sauces, and as a condiment.
The company is also rolling out gluten-free Mongolian Beef Stir-Fry and Marinade Sauce. This is the seventh flavor to a line-up that already includes Teriyaki, Szechuan, Asian BBQ, Thai Peanut, Sweet and Tangy, and Orange Sauce. Since March 2011, after some reformulating, all of the company’s soy sauces and cooking sauces have been certified gluten free and have received countless awards in gluten-free product competitions.
