It will be the end of a brief era when Pack Expo Las Vegas and Process Expo stage their last trade show together in Las Vegas Oct. 5-7.
Some 21,000 packaging and food processing professionals are expected in the Las Vegas Convention Center for the show, which also includes the Converting & Package Printing Expo, as it has for the past three years. Together, the three shows will feature 1,500-plus exhibitors taking up 650,000 sq. ft.
Process Expo, sponsored by the Food Processing Suppliers Assn., has been paired with Pack Expo since 1997.
Pack Expo and its sponsor, the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Assn., is in charge of the conference, and this year the theme is “Maximizing Performance, Sustainability & Economics.” The program offers more than 50 sessions by industry experts exploring an array of issues affecting today’s packaging and processing professionals. One featured presentation is leading retailers offering their perspective on the private label sector.
The keynote address -- Wednesday, Oct. 7 -- will be “Day One to Doors Open and Beyond – Fresh & Easy Builds a Totally Branded Experience.” Steve Ryder, store design and planning director of Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market, and Kevin O’Donnell, founder, thread collaborative, will discuss how they launched a new retail brand.
Process Expo will link up with the Institute of Food Technologists’ Food Expo starting next year: July 18-20 in Chicago’s McCormick Place. Pack Expo officials say they are cultivating processing suppliers to maintain that element of their next show, which will be in Chicago Oct. 31-Nov. 3, 2010.
