Kraft Distribution Building Recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council

A ProLogis distribution building in Morris, Ill., leased by Kraft Foods in May, became the largest building recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council. The 800,000-square-foot warehouse was completed last year. The building was Leadership in Environment and Energy Design (LEED)-certified in the council’s global commercial interior category. According to the Joliet Herald-News, ProLogis and Kraft reduced lighting energy use by 60 percent, installed a ventilation system that improves air quality and reduces power use by 40 percent and diverted 1,125 tons of construction waste from going to dumps.
