In the latest manifestation of America’s supply chain woes, Chick-fil-A is running out of sauce.
The chicken-sandwich chain announcedthat at most of its approximately 2,600 restaurants, it will be limiting customers to one sauce cup or packet per item ordered. "We are actively working to make adjustments to solve this issue quickly and apologize to our guests for any inconvenience," the company said in a statement.
Supply chain problems have hit quick-service restaurants especially hard, with shortages of both food and packaging. The Chick-fil-A situation echoes a nationwide shortage of single-serve ketchup packets that at one point had them selling for more than $10 each.
Fast-food restaurants are also dealing with a shortage of chicken, especially specialty cuts like wings, although Chick-fil-A mentioned no such difficulties.
