Caulipower Introduces Cauliflower-Crust Pizzas

The nutrient-rich pizzas taste like conventional recipes but have less sodium, calories and sugar and are higher in vitamins.

Many consumers love eating pizza yet worry about the carbs and calories. Recognizing this, Caulipower is introducing cauliflower-crust pizzas, the first of many cauliflower-based foods the company plans to launch. Made with real cauliflower, the nutrient-rich pizzas taste like conventional recipes but have less sodium, calories and sugar and are higher in vitamins. The frozen pizzas are ready in 15 minutes and come in four varieties.

There’s a plain crust, which is a blank canvas awaiting culinary artistry. The Margherita honors the classic recipe with diced vine-ripened tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and signature sauce made from a blend of spices, extra virgin olive and garlic. Three Cheese is a mix of mozzarella, Parmesan and white cheddar atop the same sauce. Veggie features ripe red, yellow and green peppers atop mozzarella cheese and a savory sauce.

Caulipower is the brainchild of Gail Becker, former president of public relations firm Edelman, who jumped from a globally recognized corporate career to entrepreneurship. After both her sons were diagnosed with celiac disease, she was frustrated by the poor nutritional value of gluten-free options and wanted to create products that could go beyond just gluten-free to be craveable and delicious to anyone.
