Cargill Meat Solutions Corp. has filed notice with the Tennessee Dept. of Labor and Workforce Development that it will execute a partial permanent layoff of 111 workers on March 15, 2024, according to the notice posted online.
The layoffs will affect the Nashville, Tenn., facility’s crumbles production only, the notice states. The employees at the facility are not represented by a union agreement, and workforce development and human resources agencies in the region have been notified.
Cargill took ownership of the Nashville facility in 2016 with the acquisition of Five Star Custom Foods Ltd., in a move that bolstered Cargill’s cooked protein capabilities.
