T. Marzetti Breaks Ground on Horse Cave, Ky., Expansion

T. Marzetti, a Lancaster Colony company, broke ground today (May 13) on a 184,500-sq.-ft. manufacturing expansion in Horse Cave, Ky. Cost was not disclosed.

The plant makes salad dressings, sauces and other foods for retail and foodservice markets. The expansion will provide additional manufacturing space and new equipment to increase dressing and sauce production, new processing kitchens and several packaging lines.

The expansion includes four ingredient tanks, multiple pump skids, five high shear kitchens, one cook kitchen, two bottle fillers running at speeds up to 400 bottles per minute, clean-in-place (CIP) system for cleaning all new equipment and labeling, case packing and robotic palletizing capabilities.

Gray has been T. Marzetti's design and construction partner for many years, having handled the design-build of T. Marzetti’s initial manufacturing operation 16 years ago. The expansion is expected to be complete in the summer of 2022 and will create over 200 jobs for the region.
