Six days ago, TreeHouse Foods announced the sudden resignation of its president/COO after only three months on the job. Today (Nov. 9) AdvancePierre Foods (APF) revealed Christopher Sliva as its next apparent leader.
APF's current CEO, John Simons, announced his intention to retire on March 31, 2017. Sliva will become president of APF on Nov. 14, and the announcement said he will become CEO upon Simons' retirement.
In connection, George Chappelle was named chief operating officer and Jim Clough becomes chief commercial officer. Chappelle was Senior Vice President-Supply Chain & Corporate Development, and Clough is President of the Foodservice business unit.
Sliva has more than a decade of experience as a public food company executive. He was at private labeler TreeHouse Foods for four years and earlier spent six years as an executive at Dean Foods. Even earlier, he worked at Eastman Kodak Co., Fort James Corp. and Procter & Gamble Distributing Co.
AdvancePierre Foods, headquartered in Cincinnati, makes ready-to-eat sandwiches, entrées and snacks for convenience stores, foodservice and retail. It was created by the 2010 merger of Pierre Foods, Advance Food Co. and Advance Brands LLC, two years after Pierre Foods entered bankruptcy protection. It went public this past July. 2015 sales were $1.6 billion.
TreeHouse announced it was undertaking a search for a new president/COO.
