Kellogg, FDA Investigating Urination Video

Two-year-old video shows employee apparently urinating on Memphis plant conveyor.

Kellogg Co. said federal regulators are conducting a criminal investigation of a 2014 video that surfaced just last week, showing a man urinating on one of its factory assembly lines, Reuters news agency reported.

The FDA's Office of Criminal Investigation is investigating the video, which was uploaded on the website World Star Hip Hop on March 11. It shows the man, who apparently filmed himself, urinating on a conveyor belt about a foot before some product is being dropped onto it. The video then pans to a sign on the machine that carries the company's logo. It apparently was recorded at Kellogg's Memphis, Tenn., plant.

The company "immediately alerted law enforcement authorities and regulators" after learning of the video last Friday, a Kellogg spokesperson told Reuters. Kellogg also is conducting an internal investigation.

The company has not identified the person in the video. Any products that could have been affected would be very limited, the statement said, and past their expiration dates. The plant made Rice Krispies Treats, granola clusters used in other products and puffed rice that Kellogg no longer makes.

If it's any consolation, comments on the video were overwhelmingly negative, including: "This foo needs his ass whoop kids eat that cereal."
