Departures Change Execs at Smucker

Byrd retires, West leaves, so executives shuffled.

There was a bunch of year-end management changes at J. M. Smucker Co.

Vice Chairman Vincent Byrd, recently also president and chief operating officer, will retire June 10 following 39 years with the company.

David West, who came to the company with the acquisition of Big Heart Pet Brands in March 2015, will leave the company April 30 but will remain a director and advisor. He will be replaced as president of the Big Heart unit by Barry Dunaway, who has 28 years with the company and currently is president-international and chief administrative officer.

Mark Belgya, senior vice president and chief financial officer, will get expanded responsibilities in government and industry affairs, information services and corporate strategy.
