Fourth generation replaces Bob Urschel as CEO.

Rick Urschel took over in September as president/CEO of Urschel Laboratories Inc.. The fourth generation of the Urschel family to be involved in the company, the former vice president of operations replaced his father, Bob Urschel, who was president/CEO for the past 30 years. Bob Urschel remains chairman of the board.

Rick Urschel started working at Urschel in 1991. With a management degree from Purdue University, full working knowledge of every department within the company, and a passion for technology, "he embraces the legacy of carrying on in the footsteps of the Urschel family of innovators," a company statement said.

Urschel Laboratories is a global leader in food cutting technology. Founded in Valparaiso, Ind., in 1910, by William Urschel, the company is in the process of moving manufacturing and global headquarters to the neighboring town of Chesterton, Ind.
