May 17, 2023
Oro LLC is slated to bring online a new plant in 2024, located just outside El Paso, Texas. Construction is expected to start this summer; it should create nearly 50 jobs.

According to local news reports and the New Mexico Economic Development Department, vegetable processor Oro LLC plans to open a new facility just outside El Paso, Texas, in Santa Teresa, N.M. Construction on the 20-acre site located in the Santa Teresa Gateway Rail Park is expected to start this summer, and the facility is slated to open in 2024.

It will create nearly 50 jobs in the area, and Oro expects to invest $19 million into the site. Oro picked Santa Teresa due to its easy access to the Pacific Northwest and the West Coast, the news reports stated. Oro processes packaged vegetables for restaurants, foodservice and retail customers, in addition to bulk ingredients for processors; it sources its products from contract growers in Mexico and the U.S.
