Tous le Jours Café Chain Owner Plans New Bakery, Food Processing Plant in Georgia
A release from the office of Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp announced that CJ Foodville Corp., a subsidiary of CJ Group, plans to build a new $47 million bakery and food-processing facility in Gainesville, Ga.
CJ Group is one of the largest foodservice and food-processing companies in South Korea, and CJ Foodville operates the Tous les Jours bakery café chain that first expanded into the U.S. in 2004. There are more than 1,650 Tous les Jours stores worldwide, and the company anticipates having 120 of them in the U.S. by the end of this year — and 1,000 by the year 2030.
The new plant will support growth of the chain and will create approximately 285 jobs locally, the release notes. In a release translated from the CJ Foodville web site on the announcement, the company stated that Gainesville was selected as the winning site over other candidates, including a site in Texas.
The new plant is expected to be completed in 2025 and will produce more than 19,000 tons of products annually.
