Mexican Foods Processor Juanita’s Foods Selects North Las Vegas for New Plant

Manufacturer of canned and frozen Mexican foods will relocate to Nevada from California, mayor says.

According to a release distributed by the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance, Mexican foods manufacturer Juanita’s Foods has targeted North Las Vegas, Nev., for a new facility that will create 144 jobs in the region.

Juanita’s produces canned and frozen traditional Mexican foods such as menudo, hominy, sauces and stews. It will build a 300,000-square-foot food processing plant in North Las Vegas, after considering locations in central California, southern California and Phoenix as other potential locations.

The company was established 75 years ago and has been headquartered in Wilmington, Calif., and the mayor of North Las Vegas was excited that the company will “relocate” to the city, the release said.
