Private-label and co-manufactured pet foods processor BrightPet Nutrition Group announced the acquisition of Salem, Ore.-based Raw Advantage Processing, which co-manufactures freeze-dried and frozen raw pet food and treats.
Bringing Raw Advantage’s portfolio on board fortifies BrightPet’s freeze-dried and frozen raw food capacity, and it also gives the Lisbon, Ohio-based processor a West Coast operation to better serve its customers and open growth opportunities both at home and abroad, the company said in a release. Conversely, BrightPet’s Midwest and East Coast customers will gain better access to Raw Advantage’s offerings as a result of the deal.
This is the second acquisition by BrightPet in the frozen and freeze-dried pet foods segment in the last year, with the company having purchased Bravo! Pet Foods in October 2022.
BrightPet expects the integration will benefit BrightPet customers by giving the company more capacity for any growth in demand for premium freeze-dried and frozen raw pet food and treats that customers want to leverage for their own benefit. The added capacity and expertise from the Raw Advantage acquisition puts BrightPet in a better position to address that need.
