Natural Balance, Canidae Join Forces to Create Ethos Pet Brands Parent Company
The merger of pet food companies Natural Balance Pet Foods Inc. and Canidae Pet Food Co. will create a new parent company called Ethos Pet Brands, according to a release distributed today. The merger was announced in March, and the new company will focus on pet well-being, simple nutrition, responsibly sourced ingredients and protein-rich products, the release said.
The Brownwood plant, which opened in 2012, will manufacture products for both the Natural Balance and Canidae brands, which offer complementary but differentiated products for dogs and cats. Natural Balance brings 30 years to the merger, while Canidae contributes its own 25 years of business in the dog and cat foods space.
