Post Holdings Closes Acquisition of Perfection Pet Foods

Dec. 4, 2023
Deal announced in October is expected to bolster Post’s processing capacity in support of its fast-growing pet food portfolio.

In a brief news release distributed today, Post Holdings Inc. announced that it had completed the acquisition of the assets of Perfection Pet Foods LLC effective Dec. 1, 2023. The deal was previously announced in October 2023.

Post has been on a pet-food purchasing run in 2023, with the reported $235 million Perfection deal coming several months after it closed on the acquisition of several pet food brands and the private-label pet food business from The J.M. Smucker Co. in April 2023 for approximately $1.2 billion.

The two deals have included manufacturing and distribution facilities in Bloomsburg, Pa., and manufacturing facilities in Meadville, Pa., and Lawrence, Kan. from the Smucker deal, and two processing facilities in Visalia, Calif., from the Perfection transaction.
