G&S Foods Hires Dan Morgan as Eventual CEO

June 16, 2021
Snack co-packer, now owned by an acquisition company, plans to grow.

Snack co-packer G&S Foods hired Dan Morgan, former President and Chief Commercial Officer of BFY Brands Inc., as President effective July 12 and CEO effective next Jan. 1.

Morgan, currently a member of the company’s board, will take over the CEO duties with the retirement of CEO Thomas Dempsey on Dec. 31, but Dempsey will continue to serve on the company’s board of directors.

Morgan led BFY Brands, which made PopCorners, from 2015 until its acquisition by PepsiCo in 2020. He recruited and developed a seasoned sales team that doubled sales under his leadership, G&S said. Earlier, he was Chief Sales Officer of Snyder's-Lance Inc. Even earlier, he co-founded and launched two successful food and snack companies, Patriot Snacks and Bay State Snacks. Morgan also has been Chairman of SNAC International, trade association for the snack food industry.

G&S Foods, established in 1996 in York County, Pa., purchased Tastysnack Quality Foods in 1999. In 2018, G&S Foods was purchased by MAW Acquisitions LP.
