The Fresh Factory, a Carol Stream, Ill.-based, vertically integrated company focused on accelerating the growth of the fresh, clean-label, plant-based food and beverage brands, has expanded its production capacity for refrigerated snack bars at its processing plant. The Fresh Factory owns or partners with emerging brands in the plant-based category.
The strategic investment targets what the company called “surging demand” for refrigerated snack bars in the release announcing the expansion. It has installed a state-of-the-art, high-volume rack oven and upgraded its flow-wrapper and cutting knife. In addition, the Fresh Factory secured a new, multi-year agreement that guarantees a steady volume of production, the release notes.
The company has established itself in the multi-serve dip category and this investment aims to help push it into the portion-controlled and fresh-snacking marketplace.
