Microencapsulated Omega-3 Ready for the Oven

The Wright Group introduces SuperCoat Omega 3, a microencapsulated omega-3 fatty acid. Utilizing its Super Micro Atomization Retention Technology (SMART) process, SuperCoat microencapsulation delivers specific nutrient function while masking unpleasant taste, odor or mouthfeel. The microencapsulation technology also increases stability and shelf life, protecting sensitive nutrients in extreme temperature and processing conditions. SuperCoat Omega 3 is protected from reactivity with other micronutrients and adverse pH environments, allowing for reduced overages.

Formulators and product developers can better fit nutrients within more compact applications. In food and beverage formulations, SuperCoat Omega 3 is a tasteless, odorless, ready-to-use functional dry powder that can be used in a range of bakery products and functional foods.

The product is available in two different powders: One is formulated to deliver a 2:1 ratio of EPA (eicosapentaenic acid) and DHA (docosahexaeonic acid), and the other emphasizes the benefits of DHA on cognitive health by delivering a 2:1 ratio to EPA. Custom powders are available.
