General Mills Inc. has announced changes to its senior leadership team and that Sean Walker, group president, International, will retire after more than 30 years of service to the company, effective Feb. 28, 2024.
The following leadership changes will take effect on Jan. 1, 2024, aiming to further advance the company’s “Accelerate” enterprise strategy:
Jon Nudi will step into a new role, group president, Pet and International, overseeing the company’s two largest growth areas. Nudi has been group president, North American Retail (NAR) since 2016.’
Ricardo Fernandez joins the senior leadership team as the newly promoted segment president, International, reporting to Nudi. Fernandez has served as president, U.S. Morning Foods since 2021, and he has held leadership roles at General Mills in the European and Latin American businesses.
Dana McNabb will become the group president, North America Retail, after serving as chief strategy and growth officer since 2021. She has previously held the titles of group president, Europe & Australia and president of the U.S. Cereal business for General Mills.
Bethany Quam has been named president, U.S. Morning Foods, and will report to McNabb on the NAR leadership team. Quam has been group president, Pet, since 2019.
CFO Kofi Bruce will oversee the strategy and growth group in the organization on an interim basis while it conducts an external search for a chief strategy and growth officer.
Walker is retiring after a career in which he was a positive driving force at the company, the announcement says, identifying big bets for the international business and being instrumental in General Mills’ most recent launch of Blue Buffalo in China.
