Smithfield Foods has announced the appointment of two new leaders to its executive team: Brendan Smith will become the chief marketing officer and Allyson Bouldon will be its chief ethics and compliance officer.
Bouldon brings extensive global regulatory and legal compliance experience in agricultural, consumer products, food manufacturing, packaging and retail sectors to her new Smithfield role. She will report to Michael Flemming, chief legal officer for Smithfield. She previously served as managing counsel for Wolters Kluwer, and she also was acting chief compliance officer for Bright Machines Inc. She has additional worked for Michael’s Stores, Chiquita Brands International Inc., Tegrant Corp. and Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co. during her career.
Smith will report to Steve France, president of packaged meats for Smithfield, and will lead the company’s marketing team throughout retail, deli and foodservice channels. He joins Smithfield after more recently serving in the same role for New Realm Brewing and Distilling, where he built a marketing department that supported retail, on-site restaurant growth, and food, beverage and spirits innovation, the company release said. He has also worked in leadership roles for Pizza Hut, Monster Energy Co. and Southern Tier Brewing Co. Smith returns to the company after having been the company’s senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Smithfield Foods and its Smithfield, Farmland, Gwaltney and Cook’s brands in the early 2010s.
