Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B de C.V., has named Rafael Pamias to be its new CEO and created the new position of executive chair for current CEO Daniel Servitje, with both appointments effective May 1, 2024.
The company release noted these changes are designed to “improve its corporate governance and strategic supervision, while strengthening its structure to better face the complexity of the growth and expansion achieved over the past years, while ensuring the continuity of its philosophy and culture.”
Servitje will turn his focus as executive chair toward long-term views and strategies, keeping those aligned with the interests of shareholders and the board of directors. Pamias, as CEO, will report to Servitje and will run the company’s day-to-day business. Servitje has served as CEO of Grupo Bimbo since 1997, and noted that the company had carried out 93 acquisitions during his time, growing to eight times larger than it had been when he took the helm.
Pamias currently serves as COO and CSO for Grupo Bimbo, and he brings more than 35 years of business strategy and marketing experience in companies such as Henkel and Danone.
